Pre-Sales Questions
  1. Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?
    Not at all. You can pay either monthly, or yearly. You can also cancel at any time. 


  2. How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
    Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. Your site can be uploaded to our servers as soon as your domain name resolves to our server dns, usually within 24-48 hours.


  3. Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?
    Absolutely. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, your site is available for you to update.


  4. Can you register a domain name for me? Can you set up domains other than .com, .org, and .net?
    We can register .com, .org, and .net names for $12/year, with you as the registrant. We can also assist with registering other domains, as well (fees for registering other domains will vary by country). Please see http://www.domainrebels.com you need to register domain names.


  5. Do you offer a money back guarantee?
    Yes. If for any reason during the first 15 days as a Jiffynet Hosting customer, you are not completely satisfied with any of our services, we will cancel your account and refund your money for that month's service.




  6. Do you host Adult sites, warez sites or sites containing illegal material?
    No. Please see our Acceptable Use Policy for policies regarding this.


  7. Is my site backed up and how often?
    It is the clients responsibility to do all back ups of their site. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your files, it is your responsibility to have a local copy of your files.
    We are NOT held liable in any way for any files, money, time, effort, etc... lost due to this unfortunate event. Furthermore, if your files are lost, we will attempt to restore them as a gesture of good faith, but make no promises what so ever about whether the files will be brought back successfully or not.

  8. How fast are your connections?
    Our  East Coast NOC Partner started in 1995 as an ISP with a single connection to the Internet via one backbone provider. As we grew, instead of buying larger access to a single provider, we started to inter-connect with many other backbone providers, and other Internet Service Providers as well. In fact, with their recent service extension to London they are now an international backbone provider itself.  Our Network.


  9. What are your server specifications?
    We have multiple servers. Current servers are either Intel Pentium-4, 1.0 GHz or higher with 512MB to 1GHz of RAM.

How soon will my account be setup and ready to use?
Account orders are placed in our queue system, and are generally created within the same business day (12-24 hours). To ensure proper setup all new accounts are first reviewed by our staff. You can start uploading and setting up your site as soon as you receive the welcome email. The welcome email contains all your information for accessing your account, as well as information on how to transfer your domain name to our servers.

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment required?
You may choose your terms at sign-up. No contracts are required. You may cancel at anytime, there are no cancellation fees.

Can I have Warez, Appz, Serialz and or commercial software on my homepage?
NO! If we find them in your directory or Links to them, your entire account will be subject to termination.

What is your policy on SPAM?
We do NOT tolerate SPAM, if we find you sending junk mail you will be banned and notified to the proper authorities. Please read our SPAM Policy found here.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?
YES! JiffyNet.net Hosting™ offers a 15 day 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee! Please view our Guarantee Policy for more info. If your not happy with our service, just cancel it and get your money back.

Can I transfer existing domain name to JiffyNet.net Hosting servers?
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for domain registar to complete the transfer process. We will provide you with a temporary URL address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from your current site. When your domain registrar announces the completion of the transfer there is a 72 hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the 72 hours you should contact your previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site at JiffyNet.net Hosting until they update their DNS.

Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
You have unlimited access via FTP or FrontPage 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your Web pages on your own computer and upload files to your Web site at your leisure.

Can I resell space within my own account?
No. Your account is only licensed for you only. Reselling or Adding your "Friends" web site (e.g. bob.somedomain.com) will lead to an account suspension.

Can I order even though I do not live in the US?
YES, you can still order with us. We can host all international domain names and also we accept many forms of payment. There will be one that you will be able to pay with.

How long does it take for me to get my money back if I want to cancel?
All cancellation requests are processed once a week. For more information please see our Guarantee Policy.

What happens if I do not like your service?
We are a company that wants to provide our customers with the best possible services at an affordable price. If we were unable to prove to you our great service, and you would like to cancel your account. All you have to do is fill out our cancellation form, and we will refund all hosting charges.

Does my website get a control panel?
Yes. Every web hosting package comes with a web browser based control panel. The control panel includes many features including; email configurations, mailing lists, pre-installed cgi scripts, databases, and much, more.

What if my site breaks your "acceptable usage policy" rules?
Users' sites may be suspended for violations of policy, or if extreme, or second time offenders, sites may be cancelled. Each occurance is dealt with on a case by case basis, and we try to work things out with every client.

Do you offer password protected directories?
Yes. Using the powerful web-based control panel you can easily protect any directory without having to manually edit .htaccess files. Our control panel makes everything easier for you!

Do you offer 24/7 technical support?

Why doesn't JiffyNet.net Hosting offer phone support?
We prefer support requests to come through our ticketing system or email for a variety of reasons.

First, it provides an audit trail of communication so that all the facts can be passed on to whomever may be working your problem.

Second, it allow us to focus on fixing problems instead of answering the phone.

Third, due to there being multiple people in different locations available to handle requests it saves additional expenses.

How long does it take to get my domain working?
If you ordered a new domain name through us, it will take 24-48 hours. If you are transferring an existing domain name to JiffyNet.net Hosting, it will take 24-48 hours after you make the DNS change with your registrar.

Can I host an XXX/adult site?
We do NOT host adult-oriented websites. Any content or links to XXX/adult sites will lead to your account being terminated.

Do you offer Ecommerce or a shopping cart program?
Yes! All web hosting packages come with shopping carts. This is part of Fantastico.

What kind of Technical Support do you provide?
We will answer, help, fix any problems related to your web hosting account. We will provide support for all the services and features that we offer. We do NOT provide technical support for 3rd party software.

Ok, I'm convinced, how do I transfer my domain name to JiffyNet.net Hosting without downtime?
To avoid downtime, please follow these procedures:

1) Sign up an account using our online order form and it will be setup within the same business day. We will email you an "Account Setup" letter which will include login so you can upload your files to our server.

2) After you're done uploading your files, contact your domain name registrar and have your domain name pointed to our DNS. This information will be provided in your welcome email.

3) Now, be patient. It will take about 48-72 hours for your registrar to update their DNS. Once it's updated, your domain name will point to your website that you have with us automatically.

4) After you confirm that your website is pointed to JiffyNet.net Hosting, go ahead and cancel your account with your previous hosting company.
